St. Augustine Prep basketball has a storied tradition of excellence, built on decades of dedication, teamwork, and success. With numerous championships and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court, the program has become a benchmark of high school basketball. Guided by experienced coaching and a culture of perseverance, our athletes embody the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of greatness, while continually striving to elevate the program to new heights.

Coach Paul Rodio began his tenure as the head basketball coach at St. Augustine Preparatory School in the 1977–78 season. Over his distinguished career, he has led the Hermits to five state championships: in 1982, 1999, 2004, 2011, and 2016. On January 11, 2023, Coach Rodio achieved his 1,000th career victory, solidifying his legacy as one of New Jersey's most successful high school basketball coaches.
